Pup / Veteran of the year 2016 critique

Jugde – Audrey Hubery. Pup / veteran of the year 2016

I Would like to thank the club & committee for inviting me to judge PUP of The Year & Veteran of The Year at East Midlands Championship Show 13/11/16 I really enjoyed it. Thank you to committee for the warm welcome & friendly show. You have some enthusiastic young people on your committee well done to them .

Thank you to the puppy’s and veterans that entered. ALL these puppies deserved to be in this very strong class everyone a contender . There were 19 entered i believe 17 before me . I WAS SO IMPRESSED with the quality of these puppies. I decided to short cut the class down to 10 then 3. The 10 was of outstanding virtues they had to be looked at again all 10 would be welcome at my house. I had to decide as only 1 prize to be given . My final 3 were different in style but such good quality in all 3 bitches. My decision was to give Best Pup Of The Year too . Yates / Tune & Cund . Tusslestaff Black Diamond . What a outstanding b/b puppy bitch . She was full of Breed type very clean lines not over done . Not a powerful head but still strong and feminine . Very good pigmentation with correct round eyes. Enough length of stop , Tight lips with good bite , clean in shoulders front not wide with enough rib for youngster. Tight feet but nails could be a little shorter but this can be improved with road work when older . I loved her whole presentation so short & compact expertly presented and moved effortlessly. Well Done on achieving PUP OF THE YEAR AWARD. My second choice was Scotland ‘s Callastaff Moon River a b/b bitch who was different in style to winner . But quality stamped all over her , i liked her head shape to winners it was strong but feminine shorter in the stop. I loved her rose ears which helped her with that keen expression. A short compact little bitch strong in shoulders with ample rib. Level top line which she kept on the move expertly presented my final opinion on these 2. I went for the overall cleanness of the over all picture of 1st .Two outstanding puppies who will compete fearlessly. Well done. My 3rd choice was Mckimm ‘s Biggleswick Fifty Fifty . A outstanding red in the standard and so well constructed . I liked her head shape and very dark pigmentation. She had a keen expression with no looseness under jaw sound in front & top line level ,hindquarters sound ,moved with drive . My decision a tiny longer in the back than 1st & 2nd this is NOT a fault she was so well put together and moved so true . Another for my house also. Congratulations on all the entrance qualifiers . My Best Veteran Of The Year was Dringshaw Stoner a super male who still has the strength and purpose in his years. Still a strong head correct ear carriage . I liked his overall balance and still has fire in his belly. Moved well . Congratulations. The 2nd to this male was the infamous bitch Ch Trufflestaff Monica Kanika . B/B who still has quality all over her . Still has her head shape with expression too die for. Still moved with out effort but felt the male was on his toes . Thank you WELL DONE on your achievements both of the Veterans.
