East Midlands Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club Open Show 26th January 2020

 

Many thanks to the East Midlands Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club for the invitation to judge at this lovely show and to the exhibitors for their entries, and taking all my decisions in a sporting manner, also thank you to my stewards on the day.

 

Minor Puppy Dog (4) 1a

 

  1. Stilman & Grey’s Sikaistaff Shadow Warrior at Maidendale 7 month old Black brindle and white, head developing nicely, with a good muzzle to skull ratio. Dark round eye, correct scissor bite, neat ears which he used to his advantage , straight front nice amount of rib for his age, level topline held on the move, moved well. BPD BPIS

 

  1. Power’s Harkline Arthur Shelby 7 month Black brindle, head not quite as developed as my 1st place, correct scissor bite ,dark eye , neat ears ,straight front with good depth of brisket for age, level topline which he held on the move when settled.

 

  1. Lloyd’s Jacomah Dark Reaper at Kalostaff

 

Puppy Dog (4)

 

  1. Robinson & Marsh’s Hamason Fynnbar Firecracker 10 month red and white pied    his head is well developed with a distinct stop , correct scissor bite, ears ok, dark eye, good deep chest , straight front leading to enough brisket, level topline held on the move, moved ok.
  2. Millar’s Skyland Enchanted 10 month Black brindle  smaller than 1 , but balanced, head of correct proportions, nice dark eye, lovely neat ears which he used well giving a keen expression,   correct scissor bite, straight front leading to a nice width of chest, enough rib,  moved well when settled.
  3. Lewis’s Hamason to be Frank at Karjaydan

  1. Wise’s Montgomery Guard strong compact dog with a good amount of bone, clean head with a distinct stop, darkest of eyes, correct scissor bite. Neat rose ears which he used to give a lovely expression. Straight front, leading to a good depth of chest, good spring of rib, close coupled, moved ok.

 

Novice Dog (5) 2a

 

  1. Robinson & Marsh’s Hamason Fynnbar Firecracker  as puppy dog
  2. Miller’s Skyland Enchanted  as puppy dog
  3. Aldonis, Kostandinova & Aldonyte’s Okwaho Kahontsi Karahwa brindle and white, excitable boy who took a while to settle, nice head with a good skull to muzzle ratio, neat ears, straight front, slightly longer cast than 1&2, moved ok when settled.

 

Post Graduate Dog (4) 1a

 

  1. Wise’s Montgomery Guard  as yearling dog.
  2. Taylor & Annakin’s Holmane Cavansite  black brindle and white , lovely head on this boy, tight lips correct scissor bite, darkest of eyes, neat rose ears with a cracking expression, correct front leading to enough chest and brisket, rib ok, level topline muscular hind quarters, neat feet, moved well away and back unlucky to meet my first place on the day.
  3. Aldonis, Kostandinova & Aldonyte’s Okwaho Kahontsi Karahwa

 

 

Limit Dog (4) 2a

 

  1. Gough’s Manark Made to Measure red dog with a punishing head, dark eye, and a perfect scissor bite well placed shoulders leading to a straight front and deep chest, plenty of rib, well let down at the hocks moved ok. RBD
  2. Woodward’s Powerpack a Tisket a Tasket b/brindle and white , not as strong as 1st   correct scissor bite, dark of eye, neat rose ears with a keen expression, correct front leading to enough chest and brisket, rib ok, level topline, moved ok.

 

Open Dog (2)

 

  1. Stanway’s Aus Ch Mosstrooper Kentucky Moon white  pied with a punishing head, dark eye and a perfect scissor bite, neat rose ears,  well placed shoulders leading to a straight front and deep chest, plenty of rib, level topline which was held on the move, well let down at the hocks this dog is fit and in rock hard condition moved with drive.  BD RBIS BOS
  2. Preston’s Tillcarr Firestarter JW b/brindle , lovely head piece on this boy, tight lips correct scissor bite, darkest of eyes, neat rose ears with a good expression,  good depth of brisket and spring of rib , neat feet, moved well away and back unlucky to meet my first place on the day.

 

Veteran Dog (2) 1a

 

  1. Cole’s Jam Iliah’s Classy Lad red and white pied , 9 years young, he still has a nice head which had a good muzzle to skull ratio, distinct stop, nice dark round eye, rose ears ,straight front, plenty of fore chest and depth of brisket, he moved with enthusiasm up and down the mat , lovely to see.

 

Veteran Dog 10+ (1)

 

  1. Folwell & Morris’s Rowellstaff Mr Ferguson red and white 12 years young, this boy still has fire in his belly! , he has a good head for his age, which he does not act at all! , dark mask on his muzzle, with correct scissor bite, he has a dark round eye, lovely neat ears which he used well, straight front with a good fore chest, this boy had a cracking amount of rib; he was in great condition and moved well. Minor Puppy Bitch (3) 1a

 Lots to like on these two bitches, which could change places another time.

  1. Howard’s Matrixstaffs Black Beauty 8 month old black brindle and white nice neat head with correct proportions a distinct stop, correct scissor bite, dark eye, straight front with a good depth of chest, short coupled with enough rib, level topline held on the move which she did with drive away and back. BPB
  2. Gray & Joyce’s Macadermus Dream Maker at Maidendale 8 month black brindle and white,  beautiful head and expression , perfect scissor bite, dark eye and well set ears , straight front with good depth of chest,  rib developing  nicely, well let down at hocks, nice tight feet. Level topline which she held on the move when settled.

 

Puppy Bitch (5) 1a

 

  1. Miller’s Skyland Ratatouille 10 month black brindle and white ,of standard size, lovely head with correct proportions, distinct stop, neat rose ears which she used to her advantage, dark eye, correct scissor bite, good deep chest , straight front leading to enough brisket, level topline held on the move,
  1. Oakley’s Homafar Jomanda Black brindle slightly larger than 1st ,nice head with good skull to muzzle ratio, correct scissor bite, neat rose ears , straight front leading to enough chest, rib ok , nice tight feet , level topline , moved ok.
  2. Robinson, Robinson-Cox & Cox Hamason Belle O’The Ball

 

Junior Bitch (8) 1a

 

  1. Hands & Freeman’s Gazstaff’s Black Velvet at Skyestaff  black brindle and white,  with a beautiful well-proportioned head , dark eye, clean lips and a perfect scissor bite well placed shoulders leading to a straight front and enough brisket ,well let down at the hocks , level topline which was held on the move,  moved ok.
  2. Waltham, Bryant & Carter’s Shortyrocks Faith Trust and Pixie Dust  close decision between 1 and 2 , red and white , lovely head and expression, tight lips correct scissor bite, dark eyes, neat rose ears , correct front leading to enough chest and brisket, rib ok, level topline , moved well away and back .
  3. Jones’s Chiswelstaff Black Velvet at Kamaristaff

 

Yearling Bitch (4) 1a

 

  1. Higginson’s Legacy Staffords One Free Spirt Lilu standard size, Black brindle and white, head developing nicely, correct scissor bite, dark eye, neat rose ears, straight front, and tight feet, moved well.
  2. Manchester’s Rowellstaff Ebony Eyes brindle and white, smaller than 1st, but compact and balanced, well-proportioned head with correct scissor bite, distinct stop, dark eye, straight front , good spring of rib, level topline which she held on the move.
  3. Lloyd’s Busters Black Princess at Kalostaff

  1. Manchester’s Rowellstaff Ebony Eyes  as 2nd yearling
  1. Robinson, Robinson-Cox & Cox Hamason Belle O’The Ball  red and white pied, feminine head, correct scissor bite, clean lipped, distinct stop, dark eye, neat rose ears which she used well, good clean front with nice depth of brisket, good spring of rib. Moved ok

 

Post Graduate Bitch (3)

 

  1. Hands & Freeman’s Gazstaff’s Black Velvet at Skyestaff as 1st junior
  2. Payne’s Rumaco Betty Boop  red and white pied, this girl had oodles of bone and substance, strong head with correct scissor bite, distinct stop, dark eye , neat ears which she used well, good straight front with plenty of chest and deep brisket, good spring of rib, in hard fit condition, moved ok.
  3. Lloyd’s Busters Black Princess at Kalostaff

 

Limit Bitch (4)

 

  1. Rowe & South’s Ilora Bootie Luv Well what a cracker indeed one you have to put your hands on to truly appreciate, black brindle with a strong but feminine head, dark eye clean lips and a perfect scissor bite, neat ears which she used at all times giving an alert keen expression, well placed shoulders leading to a straight front and deep chest, plenty of rib, level topline which she held on the move. Well let down at the hocks this bitch is fit and in rock hard condition moved with drive. BB BIS
  2. McDermott’s Dreamingstaffs I Queen of the Kings, b/brindle, standard size bitch, lovely strong feminine head, with the darkest of eyes, tight lips correct scissor bite,, neat rose ears with a cracking expression, correct front leading to enough chest and brisket, good spring of rib, muscular hind quarters, neat feet, moved well away and back, just missed out on fitness today.
  3. Jones Lil Miss Velvet at Kamaristaff
